R&D INTERN (#132)
This internship will be performing Molecular Biology research and development of various antibody display strategies, with primary focus on yeast display technologies. As part of a team and with supervision, the intern will work at the bench to develop and test vectors for efficient library building, transformation and culturing conditions, optimizing panning conditions including FACS sorting, and subsequent reformatting into various expression systems.
This paid internship is expected to be 20-40 hours per week for 2-4 months and is an excellent opportunity to gain substantive industry experience.
Competitive candidates are expected to have completed at least 2 years of laboratory work toward a graduate degree (PhD or MS) in a relevant field. Previous experience in yeast display is a plus!
Essential Job Responsibilities
Perform molecular biology and microbiology experiments with guidance from supervisor.
Tasks include PCR, cloning, yeast transformation, yeast culturing, protein and DNA gels, and flow cytometry.
Troubleshoot challenging experiments.
Help design experiments to meet project goals.
Interpret experimental results with guidance from supervisor.
Communicate project updates to supervisor and yeast display team.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in related field. Pursuing or recent graduate of MS or PhD in related field.
Previous experience with yeast culturing and specifically yeast display is a plus!
