Invenra is a rapidly growing biotechnology company focused on developing novel technologies for multi-specific antibody drug discovery. Using Invenra’s proprietary B-BODY™, SNIPER™ and CLUSTR™ technologies, we have created a robust pipeline of next-generation multi-specific antibodies to address unmet therapeutic needs in immuno-oncology and autoimmunity.

Invenra is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate/Associate Scientist with a background in cell biology and cell-based assay development. This individual will work in conjunction with immunology and cell biology teams to design and execute antibody binding and cell-based assays for testing lead antibody candidates. The position requires excellent scientific and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on creative solutions to technical problems.

Ideal candidates are currently employed or have been employed in similar types of positions and want to be part of a rapidly growing company doing innovative work. Candidates must bring intellectual, professional and personal values that complement the founding team: the highest standard of integrity, a tremendous work ethic, and the passion to succeed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform high throughput antibody binding assays using flow cytometry and plot dose response charts to evaluate binding affinity, as a part of antibody screening campaigns.

  • Perform cell-based reporter assays to evaluate the activity of lead antibody molecules.

  • Perform multiplex cytokine ELISAs on cell culture supernatants from primary immune cell cultures.

  • Develop stable cell lines with overexpressed or knocked-out targets of interest.

  • Perform transfections to assist in routine antibody production.

  • Analyze data, interpret results and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge about basic cell biology, ligand-receptor interactions, antibody binding affinity/avidity is a must.

  • Previous experience in flow cytometry, as well as immune cell assays and ELISA is a plus.

  • Experience in growing, maintaining and banking cell lines and transient/stable transfections.

  • Ability to compile and thoroughly analyze experimental data and draw reasonable conclusions and communicate the results to the project teams.

  • Effective communication, organizational skills and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities for successful project completion.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have a BS/MS in biological sciences: molecular and cell biology, immunology, etc., with 1 or more years of industrial or academic experience.  Candidates who have recently completed their Bachelors/Masters are welcome to apply.
